| Step1: Install DVD to SVCD. |
Download DVD-Cloner trial version and install it. Then click the green button  to open the related page of DVD to SVCD. Then click the download button to enter the download page, and click download link to download it. Then double click the exe file to install it.

| Step2: Source and target. |
| Insert your protected DVD disc into DVD driver if your source is DVD disc. Then click the source drop down bar to choose it for source file. You also can click source folder button to choose a IFO file for you source. |

| If you have standalone disc burner, you can insert a blank VCD disc into it and choose it for target path in the target drop down bar. You also can choose a folder to save your target file by clicking the target folder. DVD to SVCD will copy protected DVD movie to bin image file, you can burn it to disc later. |
| Step3: Settings. |
Click setup button  to open the setting window. Choose output file format for VCD at "Mpeg" option. |

You can set the output VCD region code for NTSC or PAL. Choose a screen size for your player, there are three choices, small, medium and full. You can split the output file for several chapters, define the size of per chapter at "Pieces" option. Select a burn driver, you also can use the default settings.
You can change DVD to SVCD working speed at "Advanced" window, you also can change the CPU type and video audio bitrate. Click "Chapter" button, you can choose chapters you wanto copy at here, you also can change the caption and audio of chapters. |

Copy Protection Techniques: |
- Dongle: It is most used in expensive high-end software packages for its extra cost. It is a electronic serial number on hardware. You must plug it into computer. - Region code: An area limitation for DVD playing. PAL is the region code of most Europe countries, NTSC is used in most America and Asia countries.
- ArccOS protection: It is introduced by Sony. It adds some intentional bad sectors to lead skipping reading. Sony licenses it to various other studios, and reports of its death have been greatly exaggerated.
